Photography Studio FAQs

Clear answers to the most common questions photographers ask.

How much does a home photography studio cost?
Basic studio conversions start around £20,000-£30,000. Professional-grade spaces with full soundproofing, climate control, cyclorama walls and editing suites typically range from £40,000 to £100,000+ depending on size and specification.
What ceiling height do I need for a studio?
Ideally 2.7m minimum for portrait work, with 3m+ preferred for full-length fashion or product photography with overhead lighting. We can work with lower ceilings but may recommend rail-mounted rather than ceiling-hung systems.
Can you install a cyclorama (infinity cove)?
Yes, we build painted cycloramas with smooth curves between walls and floor, creating seamless backgrounds. These can be permanent white or painted any colour, and sized to suit your space and photographic needs.
What electrical capacity do studios need?
We typically install dedicated 32A or 63A supplies with multiple outlets on separate circuits for flash units, continuous lights, computers and climate control. All work is certified and designed for professional equipment loads.
Can you convert basements or garages?
Absolutely. Basements and garages often make excellent studios due to natural light control. We handle all aspects including tanking, ventilation, electrical upgrades, soundproofing and climate control.
