Climate Control & Technical Specification
Proper wine storage requires consistent temperature and humidity. We work with specialist refrigeration engineers to specify and install split-system wine cooling units appropriate to the room size and collection value. The enclosure is insulated with high-performance rigid foam to minimise thermal load and energy consumption.
All our wine rooms are fully mechanically ventilated to prevent stagnant air, and we specify vibration-dampened floors where the room is adjacent to a boiler or plant room.
Costs & Timescales
A straightforward under-stair wine store with basic racking and cooling starts from approximately £8,000–£12,000. A fully fitted wine room with climate control, bespoke racking, tasting table, and atmospheric lighting typically costs £25,000–£60,000 depending on size and specification.
Build programmes range from two to six weeks on site. We manage planning consent where required (basement conversions in conservation areas often need consent) and handle all Building Regulations compliance.
